Garden Design for Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire

RHS Award Winner

Gardeners' World Live takes place at the NEC every June.

In 2004, Jane was part of the team that designed a small show garden for the event called Jungle Chic. The garden won an RHS Gold Medal and was featured on the Gardeners' World television programme - presenter, Joe Swift commented " great garden, really jungly!".

The aim of the garden design was to show how a jungle theme could be applied to a small city garden. The plants used included: Canna 'Durban', Canna 'Lucifer', Cordyline australlis, Dickonsia antartica, Euphorbia griffithii 'Fireglow', Imperata cylindrica 'Rubra', Kniphofia 'Atlanta', Ligularia dentate 'Desdemona', Musa basjoo, Nandina domestica, Nephrolepsis exaltata, Osmunda regalis, Phyllostachys nigra, Rheum palmatum 'Atrosanguineum', Smilacina racemosa and Trachycarpus fortunei.

Below are some pictures of the garden - the only "small" garden to win a Gold Medal at the show that year:
